Opus One Napa Valley 2013: The Harmony of a Collaboration Between Two Greats

Opus One is the result of an exceptional collaboration between two icons of the wine world: Robert Mondavi, the renowned Napa Valley wine producer, and Baron Philippe de Rothschild, owner of the prestigious Château Mouton Rothschild in France.

The legendary history of Opus One dates back to its first vintage in 1979, when Baron Philippe de Rothschild and his daughter Philippine de Rothschild (Château Mouton Rothschild) joined forces with Robert Mondavi, a pioneer of great Californian wines aged in oak barrels. French.

Composed mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon (80%), accompanied by Cabernet Franc (8%), Petit Verdot, Merlot and Malbec, Opus One draws its remarkable density from this carefully balanced blend.

Its structured character is enhanced by a preserved acid freshness, which makes it an exceptional wine for aging, capable of aging for up to 20 years or more.

After aging for 18 months in new oak barrels, Opus One continues its maturation in bottle for an additional 18 months, before being marketed three years after harvest.

However, to fully appreciate the aromatic expression and velvety texture of this majestic wine, it is advisable to allow a few years of patience.
